Tecumseh (World Digital Library Edition)

ebook
For Native Americans to have any chance for freedom from white settlers, the disparate tribes had to unite. Tecumseh was the Shawnee Indian who worked to revive the Alliance. Some time after going up against his archenemy William Harrison, whose father had signed the Declaration of Independence, a document originally intended for white peoples’ freedom not equal rights for all Americans, Tecumseh positioned himself with the British. He died in the Battle of the Thames during the War of 1812.
